Milarepa Cave

Milarepa lived around 950 years ago at the northern slopes of the Himalayas, overlooking the upper reaches of the Brahmaputra river basin, in what is now known as southern Tibet. Jetsun Milarepa is considered one of Tibet’s most famous yogis and peots.

Chiri Gumba

Chiri Gumba is the oldest Buddhist temple in the Helambu region. The temple was recently renovated to a high standard and the President of Nepal presided over the opening ceremony. The gumba is a holy site for many local and visitors.


Shishapangma, also called Gosainthān, is the 14th highest mountain in the world at 8,027m. It was the last 8,000m peak to be climbed, due to its location entirely within Tibet and the restrictions on visits by foreign travelers to the region imposed by authorities of the Government of China.
